Kadoro, a charming stone cottage beneath an ancient blue gum tree, offers a unique private dining experience in the heart of the reserve. Meaning "Tinderbox of stories" in the ǀXam dialect, it’s perfect for a romantic dinner for two or an intimate gathering of up to 10 guests.

With no electricity, Kadoro glows by candlelight, creating a magical setting for a six-course, fire-inspired feast by Chef Oliver Coetzee, showcasing the region’s indigenous flavours. After dinner, guests enjoy a night drive back to the lodge beneath a starlit sky.

Join renowned botanist Dr Ernst van Jaarsveld to discover the botanical richness of the Cederberg. A specialist in succulents and other drought-adapted flora, he actively promotes ecological gardening and the cultivation of xerophytic species. He has travelled widely across South Africa, collecting plants with ornamental potential, many of which have been successfully introduced into cultivation.

Over the weekend, Dr van Jaarsveld will lead captivating excursions in search of some of the 755 indigenous plant species, including fynbos, rooibos, and other unique flora that thrive across the Bushmans Kloof reserve.
